Regional Office of Education 35 is an advocate for education by providing positive leadership, coordinating and delivering federal, state, and local services, and disseminating information for educators, school districts, and our community.

Streator YMCA

Students enjoy new equipment designed to engage youth in interactive health and fitness activities at the Streator YMCA that was made possible by a grant written by ROE #35 and awarded by the Illinois State Board of Education

Student Achievement Mentors

Student Achievement Mentors Lily Delao, Carlie Kruswicki and Lisa Matos participate in an informational event at Northbrook School in Mendota. 

Spelling Bee Winners

The following middle school students were named the winners of their school district's spelling bee:

  • Earlville Community Unit School District, Brayden Mock
  • Putnam County Junior High, Alicia Vazquez-Barreras
  • Shepherd Middle School, Brooklynn Cole
  • Waltham Elementary School, Audrey Kennett

Other schools may have held a bee, but did not submit winners. Area winners will participate in a virtual spelling bee with the winner advancing to the Journal Star Central Illinois Grand Final Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 23.
