A recent study commissioned by ROE 35 highlights the critical shortage of child care in La Salle, Marshall, and Putnam counties. With long wait lists and limited availability, hundreds of parents are unable to enter the workforce, impacting local businesses and economic growth. The study explores potential solutions, including expanding child care options and employer-supported programs. Addressing this issue could generate millions in wages and tax revenue, strengthening the region’s economy.

Our nonprofit, Educate 35, received donations from area businesses to implement an incentive program to recognize well-performing students in the ROE 35 Student Achievement Mentor Program. The mentors help with issues such as attendance, academics and emotional health.

The Regional Office of Education's nonprofit, Educate 35, is a recipient of the 2024 Women Inspired Network Grant. These funds will be used for our Care Closet to help students facing hardships across La Salle, Marshall, and Putnam counties.
